Episode #73: Bringing Science To A Barfing Lightning Fight
I really like Bill Nye, and I'm glad to see so many people were excited this week to hear him have a logic-off with a creationist. But I feel like maybe you, the Internet, put WAAAAAY too much weight on the scenario. Like you all legitimately thought that Nye was gonna go up there and flip hundreds of thousands of people to legit science by reciting the exact same shit that's been said on the subject thousands upon thousands of times before. I mean, I admire your optimism, but to think that a debate like this would end in any fashion other than a technical stalemate is kinda silly. Though I suppose the fact that Nye wasn't killed with several rocks shortly after exiting the stage shows we truly are advancing as a society.
So anyway, I wanted to do something about it while it was still fresh and relevant (something I seldom get to do as you all have seen last week). But at it's core? I wanted to draw a unicorn puking lightning bolts into a crowded theater.
